The Mobility Enhancement Robotic Wheelchair (MEBot) is a novel electric powered wheelchair that can be used for indoor and outdoor mobility. MEBot uses electric and pneumatic actuators to individually control each of it’s six wheel, which gives it unique ability to navigate curbs, climb steps and maintain a leveled seat position while rolling up and down hills.

I was involved with the lab testing of MEBot in the CAREN to evaluate it’s stability and safety. This work was published in Medical Engineering & Physics.

We are currently in the process of conducting usability testing with potential end users of MEBot.
